June is Pride Month! Let’s recognize, celebrate, and support the LGBTQIA+ community, history, and culture. Pride Month commemorates the anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York as well as the ongoing history of the fight for LGBTQIA+ rights. Check out our book display, bibliography, bookmarks, and buttons!
Summer Reading Program 2023: All Together Now! Sign up and get a free book! All ages can participate to earn prizes by logging reading minutes and taking part in activities and programs all summer long. Program runs June 1st through August 15th.
June 3: Trucktopia, 11 am – 12 pm Join us in the parking lot to explore all kinds of vehicles, including a fire truck, a garbage truck, a delivery van, and more! Refreshments also provided while supplies last. Please do not use horns or sirens during the first 20 minutes of the event.
June 10: Lego Block Party, 2 pm – 3 pm We provide the Legos, you bring your imagination! Young children must be supervised by an adult.
June 13 & June 27: Scrabble Group, 12 pm – 2 pm Flex your vocabulary and come play Scrabble with new friends!
June 14: Evening Book Club, 6 pm – 7 pm Come to our new book club on the second Wednesday of each month to make new friends and enjoy engaging conversation. Books will be collected and distributed at each meeting. Please contact Diana at (916) 375-6467 for more information.
June 17: Uncle Jer’s Traveling Bee Show, 2 pm – 3 pm Join Uncle Jer for an educational and entertaining program on bees! The show features a presentation, a puppet show, free honey samples, and an up-close look at the live bees in their hive! Funding provided by the State of California.
June 24: West Sacramento Repair Café, 9 am – 12 pm Free bicycle and clothing repairs from skilled bike mechanics and sewing experts who will teach you how to do it yourself!
June 24: Sun Print Workshop, 2 pm – 3 pm Join artist Elaine Nguyen and learn how to use the sun to make beautiful works of art. Funding provided by the State of California.
